It was such a lovely two-day event…Indeed, Asia’s grandest and biggest wedding fair…there was an over-whelming number of visitors..and such a lovely sight to see numerous couple filling the whole place…Love was definitely in the air that week-end….

…and to end the first night of the expo, a man in-love proposed for marriage to his long-time girlfriend for everyone to witness….(*sighs, and sobs)

…the whole place was styled by PIDO….these fashion pigeons are beautiful and they brought that other-worldly vibe to the whole place….

…three huge halls with over 400 wedding professionals….

We wanted to create a couture-like dress with the ease of wearing a t-shirt, hence the stretch tulle tank top; the whole look is actually four separate pieces… 1. The sheer tank top 2. white cotton tube top 3. skirt 4. cape ….and the result is nothing short of majestic with the comfort of wearing a good-old cotton tee….

…skirt is made from hundreds of silk organza cut-outs, sewn on sequined tulle….finished-off with a heavily crystallized armorial belt….

…the top part is made from red silk, strategically draped to accentuate assets and hide flaws…..

…the skirt is made from layers and layers of red french tulle, appliqued with hundreds of fabric cut-outs….

…the draped bodice is accented with antique brass and red stones…

…fabric cut-outs are laboriously sewn by hand one by one… and the side drapes sinuously follow the natural contour of a woman’s body creating a very sensuous illusion…

It was not a simple task as most of the entourage and the bride herself are all based in different countries, meaning no actual meetings, no initial fittings…everything has to be done online…

After too many exchanged emails and skype sessions…one by one designs were approved and one by one, dresses were brought to life…and a week before the wedding took place, the entourage and the bride came to our workshop to fit the dresses for the first time….

The flowers girls looked like garden fairies in their dreamy-petalled couture…..

…and the ladies were modern-day grecian deities in their sinuous draped dresses…..

…of course, the spotlight was on the beautiful bride….she wanted a sculptural but playful dress…a mix of european and arabic aesthetic…

…after the wedding ceremony, the bride changed into a kaftan-like, jalabiya-inspired dress where she danced the night away…

…the newly-wed rushing to their honey-moon…..

..it was a fun evening, full of love, full of laughter…full of joy…cheers to Maricris and Ayat for their union and may they stay together in over-flowing happiness and prosperity, forever…and beyond….
